Transportation of Biological and Infectious samples, by Surface and Air.
COURSE AGENDA: Prerequisites: None
This course is designed for anyone new to these regulations. It is a comprehensive program designed to take the student through the basic requirements for transporting biological substances.
This course is ideal for hospital staff, medical clinic personnel, researchers, or nurses involved in preparing biological shipments.
Course Objectives: Overview of the Transport Canada Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and the United Nations international (ICAO/IATA) regulations.
Using the TDG Regulations and the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations along with Variations filed by different countries and airlines will provide the attendee’s with the required skills and knowledge to allow the shipment to arrive at its destination safely.
• Become familiar with identifying infectious substances, diagnostic specimens and biological products
• Know your responsibilities under TDG and IATA
• Be able to prepare and offer for transport: biological substances, including infectious substances
• cooling agents such as dry ice
