Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is any safety equipment workers wear to prevent injury in the workplace when engineering and administrative controls fail to eliminate the hazard.
Training is required by WorkSafeBC and Health Canada.
This is a full Day course
PPE is equipment designed to prevent injury from falls, specialized gloves to protect your hands, boots to protect from sharp’s or chemicals. Your job may require you to wear specific eyewear, perhaps a helmet or other form of protection for your head. Are you required to wear one of many styles of respirators? This course not only goes into the different equipment available but why it may be required and most importantly how to wear PPE. Improperly fitting or applied PPE won’t do the job of protecting you.
After going through training you will know:
When PPE is necessary
- What PPE is necessary
- How to properly don, doff, adjust and wear PPE
- The limitations of PPE
- The proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of the PPE
