Biohazards can be discovered in bathrooms, kitchens, nightstands and in bedding. By understanding the hazards, employees will better approach their work in a safe manner. This course is appropriate for personnel who work with or come across possibly biohazard hazardous materials in the course of their duties. These materials may be; fluids, chemicals, drugs or drug residue. Course content touches on the various Canadian legislation and regulations (Federal and Provincial) governing hazardous materials, identification of potential biohazard risks (types, locations), personal protection equipment, and when to call in help from Hazmat specialists.

Understanding why and how it is important to eliminate the risks and ensure the safety of staff, customers and visitors.

- Basic understanding of some of the Strategies for removing and controlling hazards
After completing this course, the attendees will able to understand the risks of biohazards and how they may cause injury or illness, identify the relevant legislation, standards or guidelines related to biohazards, and prepare an Action Plan to identify, assess the hazard based on an actual situation. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences.
