Tom Thumb Pedal Cars
What are the Tom Thumb pedal cars?
The Tom Thumb pedal cars were originally part of a children’s safety program put together by the Vancouver Island Safety Council. There was originally both a permanent and mobile training program consisting of 6 pedal cars, cones, stop signs and instruction designed to teach pedestrian and traffic safety to children ages 5-8.
BC Hazmat Management is now the proud caretakers of this wonderful safety legacy. We travel to events all over southern Vancouver Island allowing children to experience the fun of pedaling the wonderful and historic cars around a designated track.
BC Hazmat Management staff lovingly maintain the cars. For charitable and not-for-profit events we donate our time, deliver the cars, set-up the track and manage the process. All we ask is for volunteers to assist us.
If your group is interested in having BC Hazmat and the Tom Thumb Pedal cars at your event, please contact John Espley at 250-656-3382 or jespley@bchazmat.com
BC Hazmat Management has been proud to donate and maintain 2 of the Tom Thumb pedal cars for the exclusive use of the families staying at Jeneece Place next to the Victoria General Hospital.
Sponsorship’s:
Support our efforts in bringing these wonderful cars to the many children around the South Island. We have sponsorship’s available for the cars and track siding. Proudly display your company name to thousands of families. Sponsors are also eligible to have the cars attend one of their own events!
