What Our Clients Say

“Dave and BC Hazmat Staff, on behalf of Robbins Parking we would like to express our sincere gratitude in the Level One Spill Response course provided to our staff. Our employees truly enjoyed the training and professionalism shown by your staff. Your extensive knowledge and ability to provide answers to our Parkade Staff members was truly appreciated and acknowledged by our staff.

Your positive attitude has made a big difference in the way our employees view the seriousness of a spill.

Again, thanks and congratulations on your win at the Greater Victoria Business Awards.”

“I work for the Canadian Forces here in Esquimalt. I have done a little bit of business with BC HAZMAT over the past couple of years and I have been on your mailing list ever since. In a few weeks I am moving back home to the East coast of Canada and I would like to be removed from your mailing list at this time. Every experience I had with BC HAZMAT has been a great one. You have great customer service and I have recommend your services to the person taking over my job.
Thanks for everything over the past couple of years.”

“I just wanted to say thank you for all of the support you’ve offered and help that you’ve been while I developed the WHMIS course for our company. Yesterday I taught my first intro WHMIS class, and everyone who attended said I did a great job! I couldn’t have done it without the hours of instruction and the helpful resources you’ve made available to me. Thank you,”

“I wanted to thank you again for accepting me for this course. I had no idea that I would get so much out of it and have as much interest in this field. Dave, your knowledge and past experiences are invaluable. Thank you for sharing with us so much, it was made easier to relate situations to the subjects that you were teaching us. Your past experience’s on the job, what to look for, for example; as some restuarants may throw hot cooking oil down storm drains, how to clean it up and tricks to find where it origonated, etc., Your knowledge and past experience’s how to pack, store and transport dangerous goods and just how easily these substances become explosive, flamable and extremely dangerous for the simplest mistake and/or trying to cut corners which is what I have seen far too often.  I truly appreciated Rebecca, Steve and Mike’s presentations as each of these instructors clearly have much knowledge and experience in the Hazmat fields. All of the instructors answered our questions with and always made sure everyone could hear the qustion and answers given. They were all very open to questions and they were all very easy to listen to and always had the classes attention. We were there to learn and that is exactly what we did and had fun doing it.

Thank you ALL very much. I hope this class will continue to teach as this information should be taught to all Employers and Employees. In my experience, both Employers and Employees are either not taking heed and respecting the true danger that lies before them as they are working with such dangerous goods or they have not recieved the education needed to understand the danger. Either way, if this course was more manditory, I know we would have much less needless accidents and deaths not only in the workplace but in our own personal homes as this knowledge will all come home with us to teach our children and family members.”

“I have been to many training courses over the years but this one stands out for several reasons.  Firstly, the people, the instructors are wonderful – all of them.  They are approachable, personable, helpful, excited to share their stories and training info and they are very passionate about what they do.  It was like being trained by family members of a sort.  No intimidation, stress – nothing like that.  Secondly, the course material was excellent – relevant, applicable, hands-on, up-to-date, interesting.  I’ve taken WHMIS courses before but this course actually affected me in that it changed how I perceive safety and my surroundings.  I actually “want” to be more safety conscious now and it interests me a great deal more than it used to.  The trainers offered us real-world examples or stories that helped us in ways books don’t.  The “Tell us your story” videos are excellent.  I honestly believe that such material has a large impact on how people take in, remember  and apply training such as this.  We were provided with kindness, amazing food, a wonderful place to meet, a great cat, honest mentorship and a list of close contacts.  I know that I left feeling properly educated by people who really care about what they do and why.  I would take this course again and will refer HAZMAT courses to anyone who is looking for training.”

“I have always found WHMIS to be a very dry and boring subject.  I know I am even guilty of saying that it “is the most boring 4 hours of your life“! But I think you showed me how it can be enjoyable and a VERY valuable course no matter who is taking it.  I really enjoyed the video of real stories, as well as your own stories of how things can go wrong.  In any job, people become complacent and don’t recognize the dangers that surround them.”

“I would eventually like to order the Dantec video, because I believe that seeing the real-life effects of not properly reading the MSDS, will have it “hit-home” for people, and definatley make the course more memorable. Thanks agai

“Thank you for your work on the FMFCB’s Hazmat Clean-up 17-21 Jun 02. Your extensive knowledge of hazardous materials used by the Unit, of the organization and layout of the Dockyard, and your very detailed knowledge of WHMIS, TDG, CANADA LABOUR CODE Part II, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY, and BC SPECIAL WASTES, along with your focused commitment and energy, was essential to the clean-up’s success. Thanks.”
