Letting the punishment fit the eco-crime

A recent environmental conviction in Abbotsford apparently cost the offender less than having to follow the law. Unfortunately, the law often treats environmental polluters with kid gloves. We argue that serious environmental offences should be treated as seriously as we treat criminal offences.
